Allergies
We are a PEANUT FREE school! (i.e. we do not serve Peanut Butter or peanuts)
We use Sunflower Butter or Almond Butter.
Please note that sometimes we eat food that has been processed in a facility with peanuts or other tree nuts.
If your child has a food allergy (need doctors note) or food preference, substitute meals may be brought from home. Check in with me about this.

Policies
School of Swedish Fish general info and policy (you will receive my full policy-contract in person if you decide to join our school.)
Toilet Training:
Your child does not need to be potty trained to join our school but if they are in training accidents happen! :) An extra set of clothes (marked with name) will need to be left at my home for each child. I do not potty train but will support your child in the process. I will not force your child to use the potty if they are not ready, scared or not comfortable. The day will come when he/she is ready.
Sick Care:
Should your child become sick during his/her day, you will be notified and we will determine the best course of action concerning appropriate care, which may include being taken home.
No child will be accepted or kept in care with a fever in excess of 100.0 degrees, or if he/she vomits, has excessive diarrhea or any other potentially contagious disorder.
Any medication to be given must come in a clearly labeled bottle with dosage information and a note signed giving consent to provider to administer that medication.
Please do not dope and drop off.
Toys:
Toys from home are welcome but we are not responsible for lost or broken toy.
Trial period:
To assure that the childcare arrangement is a good fit for the child and the provider there will be a two-four week trial period. Within this period, either the family or the childcare provider may terminate childcare for any reason without notice.
Provider may terminate at will at any time.
Pick up:
Please ensure your child is picked up on time. If you are not on time, a late fee of $1 per minute will be added to the following month’s tuition. I understand emergencies arise and would appreciate a phone call or text, late fee will still be applied.
Food:
Healthy snacks and lunch is provided every day along with water. Also, a light snack in the afternoon after nap. I do not serve breakfast. If your child didn't eat breakfast before attending school you can always bring it and I will do my best to make sure it’s eaten. Water is served throughout the day.
Absences:
Please notify me by 9:00 am if your child will not be attending the school that day.
Our latest drop off time is 9:00 am. (medical appointment excused)
Biting and aggressive behavior:
Biting is a natural developmental stage that many children go through and usually a temporary condition between 13-24 months. At Swedish Fish we have ZERO tolerance for biting or aggressive behavior towards another child as the safety of our children is our primary concern. If your child bites he/she cannot attend Swedish Fish. This can be a very serious situation and often times a challenging situation for the caregiver and all parents and children involved.
The word NO:
We use the word NO for the appropriate situation. For example: boundaries, personal space, NO we do not bite or hit people etc.
We are a balloon and popcorn free school.
